Eclipse: The Movie ♂

by Jason on Jul.18, 2010, under Movie Reviews

Movie Title: Eclipse
Author:/b> Stephenie Meyer
Director:
Category: Suspense / Thriller / Love Story

Summary: The movie played out very much like the book. The one big difference I notice, is the change in actress for the character role of Victoria. The slow romantic scenes at the beginning set it up to be a slow love story with some action at the end of the movie. Perfect movie to see with your girlfriend. Definitely more of a chick flick but still a very good movie.

I gave it 4 out of 5 Stars.

New Moon ♀

by Jessica on Dec.04, 2009, under Movie Reviews

Movie: New Moon
Director: Chris Weitz

First, let me suggest that you check out my review on New Moon: The Book. I, myself, am a huge Twilight fan. So, of course I’m going to back this movie up. I read the book before I saw the movie. So, I already knew the outcome. But, that didn’t affect the movie at all. I love each character and can find myself in each one. Its easy to relate if you’ve ever been in love. The Twilight series is a love story all together and this particular book is about the heartache that sometimes comes along with love. Vampires, Werewolves, nightmares… Its a must see. Therefore…

I gave the movie 10 out of 10 Stars.

Funny People ♀

by Jessica on Nov.30, 2009, under Movie Reviews

Movie: Funny People
Director: Judd Apatow
Starring: Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza

Summary: Funny People begins when an aging comedian (played by Adam Sandler) finds out that he has a life ending disease. After suffering a bout of depression he decides to go back to his roots and start doing stand-up again. It is here where he mets an aspiring comedian (played by Seth Rogen) and hires him as his assistant. Sandler starts on new medicine that saves his life but greatly affects his new kindled affair with a former girlfriend.

Review: So, if your an Adam Sandler fan, and you’re expecting one of his normally hilarious films, you might be in for a bit of a surprise. This is a story of life. The movie is filled with famous and not so famous comedians. While you will find plenty of humor, there is also love, death, heartbreak, disease, and can be a bit dark at moments. All in all, I did enjoy this movie. Every prediction I made while watching it was wrong. But that’s a good thing.

I gave the movie 8 out of 10 Stars.

Review: The movie was not classic Adam Sandler. Had some funny moments, but the movie was entirely to long at over 2 and a half hours. The story went a total different way than I saw it going.

Bride Wars

by Jessica on Nov.29, 2009, under Movie Reviews

Movie: Bride Wars
Director: Gary Winick
Starring: Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Candice Bergen, Chris Pratt, Bryan Greenberg, Steve Howey, Kristen Johnston

Summary: Bride Wars begins with two small girls falling in love with getting married. When the two girls grow up and are proposed to around the same time, things get very complicated. They go from being best of friends planning a wedding to mortal enemies. They both set out and try and sabotage the others wedding. In the end someone ends up with their husband and the other ends up with nothing. You will have to watch to find out who.

Review: This might be a ‘chick flick’ but its a great story of friendship and love. I have seen it several times and I find myself getting emotional time and time again, and I DID laugh out loud. Some guys are just pessimistic about girl movies.

I gave the movie 7 out of 10 Stars.

Review: Extreme chick flick. It has some, kind of funny moments. No real laugh out louds. At times I actually forgot the movie was all about weddings. The story is mediocre.

Movie: Dazed and Confused
Director: Richard Linklater
Starring: Jason London, Rory Cochrane, Wiley Wiggins, Sasha Jenson, Michelle Burke, Adam Goldberg, Matthew McConaughey, Marissa Ribisi, Kim Krizan, Parker Posey

Summary: Dazed & Confused follows a group of teenagers as school prepares to be out in the summer of 1976. Follow as you see the hazing rituals from all seniors on upcoming freshmen. While everyone has their own view of the events going on, when it’s all said and done the cool upperclassmen befriend some of the freshmen and bring them along on some of the partying adventures that they partake in. Review: Overall the movie was great. All though I wasn’t around then I think it was very accurate of the times. Watching this movie makes me wish I could have grown up in the 70’s. The movie flows very good and everyone loves a good funny party movie.

New Moon

by Jason on Nov.24, 2009, under Movie Reviews

Movie: New Moon
Director: Chris Weitz

First, let me suggest that you check out my review on New Moon: The Book. I thought the movie was rather slow. Although the author of the original book, Stephenie Meyer, intended this book to show the lose of true love. I think that element of the movie was very good. The director very closely followed the book. The only things that were left out of the movie were the unimportant things.

The movie very easily continues the story of Bella Swan. With the introduction of the werewolves there is a whole new concept to the movies. The first movie introduced vampires and now in the second they introduce the werewolf. So there is more action in this movie as opposed to its prequel. Maybe get a few more guys in the movie theaters that way.

The CGI done for the movie was great. It adds to the extremeness of the movie. The werewolves are frightening and stunts performed look amazing.

I gave the movie 7 out of 10 Stars.
