Movie: Funny People Director: Judd Apatow Starring: Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza Summary: Funny People Review: So, if your an Adam Sandler fan, and you’re expecting one of his normally hilarious films, you might be in for a bit of a surprise. This is a story of life. The movie is filled with famous and not so famous comedians. While you will find plenty of humor, there is also love, death, heartbreak, disease, and can be a bit dark at moments. All in all, I did enjoy this movie. Every prediction I made while watching it was wrong. But that’s a good thing. I gave the movie 8 out of 10 Stars. Movie: Funny People Director: Judd Apatow Starring: Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza Summary: Funny People Review: The movie was not classic Adam Sandler. Had some funny moments, but the movie was entirely to long at over 2 and a half hours. The story went a total different way than I saw it going.
I gave the movie 5 out of 10 Stars. |

Movie: Bride Wars Director: Gary Winick Starring: Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Candice Bergen, Chris Pratt, Bryan Greenberg, Steve Howey, Kristen Johnston Summary: Bride Wars Review: This might be a ‘chick flick’ but its a great story of friendship and love. I have seen it several times and I find myself getting emotional time and time again, and I DID laugh out loud. Some guys are just pessimistic about girl movies. I gave the movie 7 out of 10 Stars. New Moon

Movie: New Moon Director: Chris Weitz First, let me suggest that you check out my review on New Moon: The Book. I thought the movie was rather slow. Although the author of the original book, Stephenie Meyer, intended this book to show the lose of true love. I think that element of the movie was very good. The director very closely followed the book. The only things that were left out of the movie were the unimportant things. The movie very easily continues the story of Bella Swan. With the introduction of the werewolves there is a whole new concept to the movies. The first movie introduced vampires and now in the second they introduce the werewolf. So there is more action in this movie as opposed to its prequel. Maybe get a few more guys in the movie theaters that way. The CGI done for the movie was great. It adds to the extremeness of the movie. The werewolves are frightening and stunts performed look amazing. I gave the movie 7 out of 10 Stars. |

Book Title: New Moon Author: Stephenie Meyer Category: Suspense / Thriller / Love Story Pages: Summary: After getting a paper cut on her birthday, Edward sees hos dangerous it is for the Cullens to be around her. Edward leaves for months thinking it is best for Bella. In his absence Bella befriends Jacob Black. Then suddenly Jacob starts acting shady towards Bella. Soon Bella learns the truth about werewolves and their relationships with the Vampire. Which almost leads to her own and Edwards demise but they do take a trip to Italy. Click the book to the right for more details. Opinion: Was a good book. More action and more going on in it with the introduction of all of the werewolf characters, aswell as the Volturi. The story unfolds a little farther. Overall I think it was a good book despite the book being about losing true love. I gave it 4 out of 5 Stars. Book Title: The Lincoln Lawyer Author: Michael Connelly Category: Suspense Pages: 497 Summary: The first couple of pages just lead you into some ways of the attorney at hand. Mickey Haller is a Defense Attorney, who knows the ropes and can play the game with the best of them. After making a few small appearances in court, Haller than proceeds to meet with a new client who had been arrested for rape and battery. Louis Roulet was a model citizen, with a share in a very prosperous reality company. Upon meeting with Haller, Roulet hired him on the spot. With great ease Haller was able to get Roulet out on bond. Haller looked to his P.I. Raul to start digging up dirt and see what he could |
Two years prior Haller convinced a mexican by the name of Menendez to take a plea on a
murder charge that he said he didn’t do. Haller comments several times because of this that
he could stare innocence in the face and not know it.
Upon looking at the victims photos, Haller notices something very familiar about it. He folds it in half so he can just see the none bruised and beat up side. Than it hits him, he goes to his archives and pulls out the murder victims photo from the Menendez case. He notices a striking resemblence between the two.
So he goes and sees Menendez in prison. Haller included Roulets mugshot picture in with 5 others and showed them all to Menendez. Hoping that this was the guy that Menendez had seen with the murder victim. Out of the 6 pictures he pointed out Roulet.
By the time Haller makes it home, he finds that Roulet has broken into his house. At first it appears as though Roulet tampered with nothing. Days later Hallers P.I. Raul gets shot and murdered in his home. After this happens Roulet lets Haller know that he has his gun, and he has to get Roulet off with no charges and than the gun will be returned to him.
The whole time Haller is conspiring against him. After a 3 day court process the Judge rules to throw the case out. Than as they are leaving the courtroom, the police come up and arrest Roulet for the murder of the victim in the Menendez case. Haller is upset because he doesn’t feel that the police have enough evidence to stick him with it. Within 24 hours they release Roulet and he heads
to the house of Hallers ex-wife. Just as this is going on Roulets mom shows up at his house and shoots him. Which seals the deal for Roulet, Haller kills Roulets mom in self defense.
Opinion: Thought this was a great book. Can’t wait to pick up another book by
Michael Connelly. Has a way of leading a story and than giving a great twist at the end of it.

Book Title: Lost Boys Author: Orson Scott Card Category: Fiction/Thriller Pages: 528 Summary: This was a great read to me. I will definitely be reading more OSC in the future. It was a thriller that I didn’t see that particular ending coming in the end. The story starts with a normal ordinary family moving from their home in |
Once step arrives to Eight Bits Inc, he finds that not everything is as it appeared to be. Doing
freelance work he programmed a game called Hacker Snack, which made him alot of money.
Now he has joined the company under the job title of “Manual Writer”, but once he gets there
he finds out that he is to head the writing of the manuals, but the boss Ray Keene, also wants
his creative input on the programs the company is developing. All of this has to be done behind
the back of Dicky one of the higher ups. During the times at Eight Bits Inc, Step meets a weird
fellow named Glass. They call him Glass from his D&D character.
Just as Step is starting his first day at work, his son Stevie is starting his first day of school.
From the very first day, Step and DeAnne notice a big difference in Stevie. He seems more
depressed and withdrawn more than usual and it only seems to be getting worse.
Step and DeAnne are devout Mormons. They have brought there kids up to be the same.
Upon questioning Stevie about his 2nd grade project, he says that the other kids ruined it,
but when DeAnne goes up to the school she speaks with the Librarian who said that Stevie
won first place. Than DeAnne goes back home and questions Stevie, who admits that he
was to win 1st place, but his teacher Mrs. Jones took the ribbon from him and was going to
send it home with another kid. It all started on the first day, Stevie couldn’t understand
none of the other kids so they all made fun of him. Than when he told DeAnne, she called
the school and got Mrs. Jones in trouble. So ever since than Mrs. Jones has been singling
Stevie out. Step solves the situation though. He goes to speak with her and puts a tape
recorder in his pocket and records her total confession. Thus she quits her teaching job in
order to keep her respect and dignity.
Step goes to a computer convention, on a trip Eight Bits Inc is paying for. Since he has
been long wanting out of his job he decides to try and get some contracts to port his
game Hacker Snack onto other systems. When he finally meets with one good computer
software company, this opens up the window he needs to finally quit his job at Eight Bits Inc.
In his depressed state, Step and DeAnnes notice that Stevie has started inventing
some imaginary friends. So in their attempts to make sure he isn’t going crazy they
take him to a therapist. This also allows the introduction of the character Lee Weeks,
Dr. Weeks son. He is a crazy one indeed. He thinks that god talks directly to him, and
commands him on crazy shit to do.
While all of this is going on, here and there in the newspaper it keeps talking about little boys
disappearing. Step and DeAnne make a connection between the names of Stevies imaginary
friends and the boys who have been disappearing. So Immediately they contact Doug Douglas,
the man in charge of investigations over these cases.
Than at the end of the book you get the biggest surprise. Proving once again why Card is such a
wonderful book. Stevie finally wants his friends to come in and spend Christmas Eve with his family.
When he gets inside you find out that his friends _are_ all the boys who have turned up missing.
At this point Step makes a comment that just about killed me. “At that moment, I realized that
there were 8 boys buried under the house, instead of just 7.” That just about killed me. To find out
that Stevie had found out that the killer had been killing the boys and bring them there to bury them.
The writer created an unusual cast of characters. Trying to predict the outcome is virtually
impossible
